The Inbox can be worked almost entirely from the keyboard. The same list is in the product: open the ⋯ menu in a conversation’s header and choose Keyboard shortcuts. On a Mac, use ⌥ Option for Alt and ⌘ Command for Ctrl.

Conversations

Alt + arrow walks the list in the order it is shown, with your current view and filters applied, and works even while you are typing — the moment you send is usually the moment you want the next conversation.

Writing

The formatting shortcuts work in WhatsApp replies and in private notes. Instagram and website replies have no formatting, so there they do nothing. See Sending messages.

With the mouse

A few shortcuts combine a key with a click in the conversation list:
  • Ctrl-click (⌘-click on a Mac) a row to start selecting conversations.
  • Shift-click to select every row between your last click and this one.

Shortcuts that change something — resolving, switching to a note — are not available to members with the Viewer role.
